Problem:

Error or errors like

EXT3-fs error (device sd(8,1)): ext3_free_blocks: Freeing blocks not in datazone - block = 1836348733, count = 1
EXT3-fs error (device sd(8,1)): ext3_free_blocks: Freeing blocks not in datazone - block = 1651864352, count = 1
EXT3-fs error (device sd(8,1)): ext3_free_blocks: Freeing blocks not in datazone - block = 1701869940, count = 1

Solution

Revert to factory default and restore config from backup (or re-insert into cluster).

If that doesn't work, you have to hardware-boot it, format the boot device and reload the OS from TFTP. (These options are available from the first-interrupt menu that the firewall offers when powered on.)

If that doesn't work, you probably have a faulty drive and should RMA.

This is a collection of techical information, much of it learned the hard way. Consider it a lab book or a /info directory. I doubt much of it will be of use to anyone else.
