Second Sun Ray Deployed

Got another BenQ keyboard from Future Shop for $30 and deployed the second Sun Ray downstairs. Turns out that one of the cables is no good in the monitor wire, so the Sun Ray always defaults to thinking it is a 640x480@60 display, on which it pan-and-scans the 1280x1024 desktop we are set up for. I have the utset command required to fix it (see Initial Display Resolution), but it would be nice to make things permanent. The web documentation suggests that utresadm is the way to go, but I have not figured out how to make things work.

This is a collection of techical information, much of it learned the hard way. Consider it a lab book or a /info directory. I doubt much of it will be of use to anyone else.
