Sun Ray State?

Sun Rays were off in an indeterminate space this morning; last known good operating time was Monday or Tuesday. Power-cycling one showed that it picked up an IP, recognized the smart card, then displayed the configuration information instead of the Xnewt session it belonged to. Didn't try any other smart cards. Displayed the "Give me a SmartCard" icon when the smart card was absent.

I was running short of time, and there wasn't a monitor directly on Jupiter, so I could not investigate in detail. A reboot (+41 days, kind of a low count) cleared it up (plus dropped the amount of used application memory to one third of the pre-reboot level). Everything working correctly when I came back home today.

This is a collection of techical information, much of it learned the hard way. Consider it a lab book or a /info directory. I doubt much of it will be of use to anyone else.
