New Thoughts
There's a free VMware ESX release. This leads to interesting possibilities:
- get 2x500GB SATA drives.
- install ESXi on the server, using software RAID on the disks..
- install Solaris VM for SunRays.
- install Windows VM (or VMs, depending on family requirements)
- install a CentOS 5 VM.
Saturn will only take two drives, so I'm considering some other solution for large amounts of data. Something like the 1TB network-attach storage might work, I think it's around $400. It doesn't solve the problem of having all my data in one house, but it would help with the finger-problem.
