 | 2000 | This car was shipped as collector number 2000-205, but was also a member of a 5 car Gift Pack (the Shark Pack, if my sources are correct). I also seem to recall a car very similar to this (white body with the light blue spoiler) being in a HotWheels City playset (one of those small buildings which come with ramps and a single car) but it might not have the Slingshot Racing decoration on it. Despite all the ways it was sold, it is somewhat rarer than the car above, which I see offered for sale much more frequently. This car is also the only one with a story -- it was offered for sale on eBay as part of a two car set. I sent a couple of emails to the seller (as I had learned the hard way to confirm that sellers would do business with Canadian buyers before bidding), and the seller didn't get back to me in time. No one bid on the auction, and a few days later the seller emailed me and said that he'd be willing to do a single transaction if I would send him my address. I did, and a week or so later the car just showed up in my mail box. This was before I'd paid him for it. Since then I've made efforts to contact him so I can pay him, but his email has been cancelled and his eBay account has not been updated. I've sent a letter to his postal address (the return address on the shipped car) but thus far there has been no response. I feel bad that I've not paid for this car. (Update: I've since confirmed using ebay that this car was part of the Super Launcher gift pack, including the Slingshot Racing decoration.) | |

 | 2003 | Pavement Pounder | This car was an "exclusively decorated car" which came with a Pavement Pounder truck. The toy (and others like it) claim to have been specially imported from somewhere, possibly Europe. I do know that when I put the part number into the HotWheels Collector's website, it didn't show up, so it is obviously an out-of-the-US part. The back of my particular box showed this car as a silver or grey car, not the yellow one that I actually have. Further research has led to more boxes (with yellow cars inside them) showing the yellow car as the one supplied with the truck. Since then I have learned that the first year this set was offered it came with the silver or grey car, and then later the yellow car. I have also seen this car as part of a McDonald's playset. |

I wonder how durable such a finish is when compared to more traditional glossy paint finishes. eBay claimed variation: semigloss blue instead of the flat, non-gloss finish (single observation only). |

THIS HOT WHEELS IS DIRECT FROM FACTORY IN UNUSED AND MINT CONDITION ( THESE ARE REJECTED LOT FROM THE FACTORY ). REJECTED BUT IN EXCELLENT CONDITION. BLACK BODY WITH ORANGE BLUE WHITE DESIGN, ORANGE INTERIOR , SILVER RIMSNow that I have it, I see a chrome base (poor chroming), poor assembly (the orange interior is visibly deformed) and what appears to be a less-than-perfect paint job. Still, a pretty cool find and a welcome addition to the collection (plus, mailed from Malaysia, the furthest-away I've had a car delivered from!) | |
