So maybe EX switches require juniper coding in the tranceivers, maybe they don't. Internet suggests people are actively using some of them. (>>Link)

Command to find out what is installed:

show chassis hardware

My results:

VendorPartEX sees it as:
FinisarFTRJ-8519A7D-2.5UNKNOWN
FinisarFTRJ8519P1WNL-SUNON-JNPR/SFP-SX
DellFTRJ8519P1WNL-SUNON-JNPR/SFP-LX10
CiscoGLC-SX-MMNON-JNPR/SFP-SX
CiscoGLC-LH-SMNON-JNPR/SFP-LX10

Whether or not they actually work is unknown right now.

This is a collection of techical information, much of it learned the hard way. Consider it a lab book or a /info directory. I doubt much of it will be of use to anyone else.
