Checking Net Vault Activity from the command line:

As root on the NetVault server:

# nvreport -r jh
You'll get a long string ouf output like this:
5 1117 1 NetVaultDB Backup Backup Complet 08 Sep 2005 05:00 00:17:21
121 32 1 Harp-Vol2-Da Backup Backup Complet 08 Sep 2005 20:00 00:08:36
62 714 1 Harp-Daily Backup Backup Complet 08 Sep 2005 22:00 01:19:21
112 163 1 Brains-Daily Backup Backup Complet 08 Sep 2005 22:00 00:06:58
58 722 1 Guinness-Dai Backup Backup Complet 08 Sep 2005 22:00 00:33:47
60 866 1 Reddog-Daily Backup Backup Complet 08 Sep 2005 23:00 00:37:21
59 688 1 Guinness-SQL Backup Backup Complet 08 Sep 2005 23:45 00:00:39
5 1118 1 NetVaultDB Backup Backup Complet 09 Sep 2005 05:00 00:21:40

If anything described as "Harp" says anything other than "Backup Complet", you have a problem with Harp's backups.

This is a collection of techical information, much of it learned the hard way. Consider it a lab book or a /info directory. I doubt much of it will be of use to anyone else.
