My winning hands from HH20060409:
$ grep 'mackdav: shows' HH20060409 T22794297 No Limit Hold'em 300 + 20.txt
mackdav: shows [8h 8c] (four of a kind, Eights)
mackdav: shows [Ah Ad] (a full house, Aces full of Kings)
mackdav: shows [Ah Ad] (two pair, Aces and Jacks)
mackdav: shows [5h 5d] (a pair of Fives)
mackdav: shows [5s Th] (a full house, Fives full of Tens)
mackdav: shows [6h 7d] (three of a kind, Sevens)
mackdav: shows [Kc Th] (three of a kind, Tens)
I personally eliminated five of my eight opponents with these cards. The whole thing took only a total of 42 hands in twenty minutes, as opposed to another nine-seat I played the other night that ran more than 100 hands over 90 minutes.
Of course it is easy when hands like this get dealt to you -- the skill is in monetizing the good hands, winning hands when you are beat before the showdown, and minimizing the losses. The trick is to recognize the rush of good luck for what it is, and be prepared for the inevitable downturn while not believing too much in your own invincibility.
