Alex's daily routine at 10 months

(These are notes we gave to Alex's grandparents when we left him with them overnight. They pretty much capture him at this point, so I decided to save them for posterity.)

7:30-8:30: Wake up

  • 6 oz bottle
  • 3 scoops apple+strawberry
  • 3 scoops oatmeal
Back to bed for a nap, should wake normally between 10:30 and 11:00

11:30: Lunch

  • 6 oz bottle
  • 2 spoons veggie chicken
  • 3-4 spoons peas
  • 4 scoops rice
  • 3 spoons pears
Nap in afternoon when tired; could sleep anywhere from 45 minutes to 2 hours

2:30: Afternoon bottle

  • 4 oz bottle
  • 1 ml vitamin D drops
5:30: Dinner
  • 6 oz bottle
  • half jar of green beans
  • 4 scoops oatmeal w/half a scoop of mixed grain
  • 4 spoons apples
7:30: Bath and bed
  • briefly and lightly brush teeth with cold water before bath
  • 4 ox bottle
  • generally we sit with with him for around 20 minutes after the bottle (which frequently gets rejected, nothing to worry about) before putting him down
Notes:
  1. Allow him to eat as much of hte bottle as he wants, we use either bottled water or 2% milk for the cereal if necessary.
  2. He has been sticking his tongue out while he eats if he is not fond of something, we have been encouraging him to eat it anyways.
  3. The mixed grain has dried apple in it, it helps if you start softening it with milk while he eats his veggies.
  4. We do not allow him to stand in the bath unless he is being rinsed by the shower or coming out of the bath. If he tries to stand, lift him up and sit him back down or lay him down in the tub.
  5. If his teeth seem to be bothering him, go ahead and Tempra him, but he has been waking up cranky lately. We usually give him 10 to 15 minutes of being held and soothed before Tempra'ing him.

This is a collection of techical information, much of it learned the hard way. Consider it a lab book or a /info directory. I doubt much of it will be of use to anyone else.
