Spellbound Development

(installed 0.9.7.20051206)

Found on the Performancing webpage. Does dynamic spell checking of the text you type into forms and text boxes. This is mega-keen -- I can't say enough good things about it.

Making Spellbound work in Firefox 1.5.x on Linux

  1. Install >>Spellbound
  2. Install at least one >>dictionary
  3. Restart Firefox
  4. Go to Tools -> Extentions, select Spellbound, then click Preferences
  5. Go to the Test Area page and click the second button next to "Tools" (looks like an ABC with a check mark under it)
  6. At the bottom left of teh Check Spelling window that pops up, there is a Languaage dropdown; select one of your dictionaries that you installed earlier; click Close
  7. Now go back to the SpellBound Options window, select Inline options
  8. Make sure that Enable spell as you type is selected
  9. Click Close
That should do it. If it doesn't work, try performing these steps as root.

This is a collection of techical information, much of it learned the hard way. Consider it a lab book or a /info directory. I doubt much of it will be of use to anyone else.
