Procedure for upgrading NetApp OS

  • From your hosting sun, run: cd /opt/downloads/dataontap/OS
  • run: ./install_netapp -k /net/harp/vol/vol0
  • the tar ball will untar the etc directory on the filer
  • telnet to harp or better yet connect to it's serial console
  • run download
  • run halt
  • reset the filer
  • watch the firmware updates happen
The filer will be available for general use once it completes coming up.
